Neon Tommy profile on Bikeside
Masters of Journalism student Kim Nowacki put together this great piece on Bikeside over at Neon Tommy, the popular city blog produced by the collective efforts of USC Annenberg journalism students. Nowacki’s, an outsider to Bikeside, and new to Los Angeles, crafted a piece that is the best description to date of what Bikeside is about. Here’s a sample:
It’s also here that earlier this month congressional candidate Marcy Winograd won the endorsement of Bikeside LA, the new, and at times loud-mouthed, kid on the block when it comes to Los Angeles bike activism.
“They are powerful in that they have grassroots support and they have a mission. They’re not kidding, they don’t compromise and they’re real,” says Winograd, a co-founder of the Los Angeles chapter of Progressive Democrats of America, who’s running against Democrat incumbent Jane Harman for the 36th congressional district seat.
Kim interview both me (here on YouTube) and Don Strauss, an influential Westside bike voice who is on Bikerowave’s Board of Directors. Don’s interview is beautifully put together, and shows off some of his best material:
Here’s a challenge to anyone who watched the interview of me on Youtube – what key strategic insight did I share that maybe I shouldn’t have?
